Trick or Treating and Party
Some Middle School students came in costume on Halloween night for trick or treating, costume contests, bobbing for apples, games, and apples on a string.
We invited the neighborhood and some other kids showed up as well. At one point close to twenty people were there in the grange partying it up!
Here are some woefully inadequate pictures. (the camera ran out of juice...)
Dave getting made up by Amy... wow
The sunset was beautiful...
Clara got in on the apple action as well!

Fall Bike Hike Through the Notch
Usually the Youth Groups take a hike in the fall. This year we mixed it up and took a Bike Ride south through Franconia Notch. When we first got up there things weren't looking good as we hit rain, then snow, but by the time we arrived at the north Cannon parking lot, unpacked the bikes, layered up our clothes, things were clearing up.
It turned out that the skies opened up and the sun shone as we rode down between Cannon Mountain and the Shoulders of LaFayette. Beautiful! There were speeders and cruisers among us but everyone made it to the end.
The only glitch was a slippery bridge on which Corinne took a wipeout (and took me with her!) But we shook ourselves off and kept going.
Pics to come!

Youth Groups on the Alpine Tower
Earlier this fall, both youth groups climbed the alpine tower at Burleigh Mountain in New Hampton. The pictures just became available so here's the post! The Tower is owned by New Hampton School. Hans Mundahl, Director of Experiential Learning (Dave's former colleague and current friend), led students through warmups and climbing on the tower. Afterwards everyone climbed up the ski slope at Burleigh and talked about the importance of challenging ourselves, and not just going with the flow.
Pics are below!!

Alpine Tower this Sunday!

This Sunday, both youth groups will be heading up to Burleigh Mountain from the Church to experience team and individual challenge climbing the Alpine Tower, a fifty-foot tall high ropes course.
This is a challenging, safe experience as climbers will be belayed on climbing ropes as they ascend the tower.
All participants are required to turn in a Health Disclosure Form as well as a Risk Waiver to be able to climb. Please click below to enlarge and/or print out the forms for parents to sign.
